East Coast Friends - Okay?
« on: October 30, 2012, 06:52:37 AM »

The storm pictures look frightening. I hope all of you that live in the New York area and surrounding states are OK. My thoughts are with you.
What a storm. Here in Ohio we have had a lot of rain, snow and winds with gusts to 65 mph but nothing like what is happening on the coast.

Hi All,
I just want to check in with the folks in the eastern US.  How are you fairing in the storm?  Do you need any help?

Hoping for the best in our little audio community.

Sincere regards,
Dana

Chiming in from Philadelphia...

We didn't get hit that hard.  I powered down my studio yesterday to be safe.  I was also prepared for a week or more without power if need be.  Power didn't even go out here.  My internet/cable TV did go out last night around 11pm (first world problem!) but it was back on this morning.  Some strong winds and a lot of rain but that was about it.  I believe some of the surrounding suburbs did lose power though and may still be out.

I have not had time to follow the aftermath too much yet today but it looks like NYC and the Jersey Shore areas got hit the worst.

Hope everyone else is OK and did not suffer any home, property or studio damage.

Lack of NYC replies means they are all out of power and/or internet.

My area 60 miles north dealing with mainly power outages. Power came back on in the studio this morning but with them turning off grids to fix others did not turn on the old Neumann today. I think we are at 68% without right now

All of the NYC rooms I have visited are at least a few floors off the ground. There really are not many options to get in or out of downtown Manhattan right now

I'm one of the lucky ones. Power out for 1.5 days. was up & running last night. huge winds not a ton of water up here. I'm 600 ft above sea level. Other areas within walking distance pretty bad no power trees down crushed houses/cars etc.
the jersey shore is wiped out. many of my older stomping grounds are under water in the city & near the rivers.
I wish the best for everyone else!
