Broadcast desk/console Identification
« on: June 07, 2012, 09:56:58 AM »

Hello All

I have a huge mixer that I am trying to identify. It is from an ex BBC engineer, I picked it up with some Altec 604-8G monitors and a Chilton M10-2 Mixer . There dosen't seem to be any id on it anywhere. It has mic and line inputs with sowter transformers , 3 band eq with sweepable mid . 2 Fb and 1 echo , groups . Its a dark green colour . I think Im gonna butcher it into parts and perhaps keep some input channels whole. Would love to know who made it. Hope someone can helps.

Wow - the knobs look somewhat similar to something I saw ions ago called a "Canary" console.  You might want to look at the circuit boards on the channel strips to see if there is any screening that might provide a manufacturer name.

Best of luck with it.

Peace

At first I thought it was a Chilton QM3 but then I realised it wasn't because of the different master section.

Sorry, no further leads for you.

Cheers :)
