I'd have to look it up, but I think I have my subs low-passed @33Hz, N802s run full-range. Whatever the actual settings, in my rig they yield a nice response down to 15Hz. No complaints from me.

Nice.

Yeah, I could be totally wrong but I was thinking about getting some used N802's a few months back and every time I searched for their spec'd frequency response I read -2dB at 39hz.

Perhaps that is just what it is on paper and their actual response is lower?

No idea, I just know in my room that's what yields the flattest response.

I don't put much faith in specs.  I contacted a company with enough of a discrepancy that they revisited their anechoic tests.

They emailed back and said "yeah, you were right", lol.

PMC MB1 with XBD. The XBD cabinet looks like a sub but it's not. It runs in parallel with the LF driver in the main cabinet - both covering the full <380Hz range. It's a very well controlled, rock solid, low distortion bottom that plays well at high and low volumes.

No sub in use here with the Dunlavy SC-IV/A monitors, except when working on 5.1 surround.

I move to the rear of the room to check the very bottom sub octave (below 50Hz) when finishing the EQ of a master, as the room works as a whole.

The other factor, I don't work w/ much Hippety-Hop or Club Dance music that's sub-centric.

With my previous setup I was using a pair of Focal CMS subs, because they matched the voicing of the hifi Focals. But those where bookshelfs anyway..

Now with the SM9s I don't feel the need for it. They go really down!

Thinking of trying out a focal CMS sub to expand my solos at some point, which focal speakers were you using?

I'm still fully in love with my Geithain RL901Ks ... no sub ... I think they're spec'ed for a -3dB point at or below 25Hz.  I seem to recall that some magazine or website included them in a shootout among dedicated subwoofers, and they apparently did well. (heh)

No subs here. My system goes plenty deep. It's not the chest-hitting type of bass, but that's why I like it. I seem to "get" it very well so I'm not installing subs in the foreseeable future, either.

Lipinski L505's, so I use a sub for sure. Yamaha HS10W. It's not an expensive sub and does the job.

Still very happy with Dun V's.  Spec'ed at +/-1.5 @ 20Hz.

K&H O300 D and an old Dynaudio sub.
I'm just a hobbyist so new big investments is hard to justify at the moment.
