Neumann KM86i Gotham Pad Removal
« on: June 06, 2012, 11:50:39 PM »

I lost the info showing exact place where the resistors would be for removal on the Gotham version of this mic. Can anyone help? I see where to strap for 200ohm but the removal of the Gotham pads eludes memory. Thanks!

Looking at the circuit board across the spot where the output impedance (50/200) is set, and separated by the transformer, you will find two thin parallel solder traces onto which are mounted two 1/8W 47 Ohm resistors.

Once you unsolder them you will see a tiny gap in the traces where the resistors were located. Fill the gaps with solder, or  solder thin bare wires across the gap, and you will be set for full output of the mic.
