WUMP 25 - (Listening, Discussion and Techniques)
« on: April 20, 2012, 12:40:29 PM »

Hi WUMP 25 participants,

PM messages have been sent out, to all 14 engineers.

We start here, with the listening and after the listening remarks and conclusion have been posted, we move on to discussing techniques right here.
Saves creating multiple threads.

Enjoy the mastering session and see you all soon, back here, in 10 days time.

Regards to all,
KAyo

I played around with it for a hour.  I eq'd, I compressed and all the time I kept skipping back to my level balanced unmastered version...I banged my head a few times. it didn't feel right.  I wasnt feeling any mojo from my master... I went aside and ate blue cheese and crackers.

I think I will just rename the file with my name and ask you to turn it up.

That's silly talk, you need at least one mulitband compressor and a stereo widener....

haha ..
Ahh DOM, save some presets on that shinny new Crookwood of yours..
Switch from Cheese to Wine and tweak that Foote!

 .. On the other hand,
I have 3 beta version already; Tackling the low’s at present.

Keen to hear all the masters.

ok so for me path went SB4000 bus comp ratio 1.54:1 - 1db of compression with a t2 tilt shift.  release time .3 attack 3 odb gain
then neumann w495stb 2db 250 wide, 2db 7k, 2db 60hz (I really need to go pick up my rack and 1/2db step mod for this)
then cranesong ibis.  1db f# (midhigh) .25db Q (with added colour on this band), 1db c# (midlow) Q of 2, 20hz cut
then sontec clone.  1db 60hz tight Q, 1db 4khz mid Q.
then Foote p3sME. ratio 1.2:! 1-1.5db copression, HPF - RMS + n/l mode 3db gain

tranfer path is via a UAD2192
then in DAW fab filter pro L 2db gain dither bounce etc

thats about it for me
I have pics but I need to make them smaller for here :D

I think we're supposed to wait until all the entries have been submitted, and we've all listened and commented on them all, before posting what we did, no?

Hey no worries! I did two versions on separate days, didn't really like either, then went back yesterday and listened again and have chosen my first one.

Can we upload it now with the same FTP details, or do we need to wait until tomorrow?
