I know a few people use the PL2 or MPL2 mainly for de-essing before hitting the cutterhead.

My needs are for smoothing out fast transients on loud dance record kick drums. I have DAW solutions now and time to analog it.

Thoughts PL2 vs MPL2 vs Fet II on the task

need to determine which option offers faster attack and release times

Answering my only question seems the Daking has more control for smooth specific audio. Noticed the ADT TM limiter as well

I like multibands for this. I use the MLA3 or the Flux Alchemist. With a multiband you can grab mostly the attack or mostly the boom or both.
