Wireless Mice and Keyboards = RF interference???
« on: October 13, 2012, 07:25:52 PM »

I guess the day of the wired mouse is fast disappearing and I am in the market for a new mouse. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts about possible RF interference with audio equipment when using a wireless mouse. I am looking at the new MS Explorer Touch Mouse. http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/explorer-touch-mouse/U5K-00001. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice.

I've used a Logitech M570 wireless trackball for over a year now, plus a Logitech K750 (solar powered wireless keyboard), and have never had any problems. Put the mobile phone near the gear and it's another story though...

Shame if it is the case cause I shun Rf anything other than my mobile which is essential, no wireless anything here. I prefer to err on the side of caution with any RF sources that I sit next to all day over and above anything I can do nothing about.

I decided NOT to get the wireless mouse.

I went with a wired one

I just did not want to risk RF problems

I had an intern who's cell phone would put out so much RF it was leaking into our Bryston Amp just sitting on the counter.

Thanks for the the thoughts and help!

The average PC puts out a plenty of electromagnetic garbage so minimizing exposure to more and more RF is a good idea IMO.

Do you have a power conditioner?

I just have a Furman PL-8 ii, it does RFI/EMI filtering.  I have a wireless mouse, my cellphone usually sits on my rack, etc., never an issue.
