Need some help...
« on: January 28, 2012, 03:37:24 PM »

Looking for some signal chain suggestions...
Budget is not a problem, and right now this is my main vocal chain:
Sony C800G -> Neve 1073 Reissue with eq -> epi distressor -> 192 -> PT HD 7
I am looking for a couple of mics and preamps for different purposes and possibly some edits on my vocal chain.
I am looking to use the mics and preamps for: Guitar and Bass, live percussion, brass, woodwinds, etc.
Any suggestions for mics and pres for these purposes would help.
Thanks

If budget is not a problem, and if you are also interested in value preservation, there are few alternatives to buying clean examples of the Big Five (M49, U67, U47/48, C12, ELA M250/251).

Bought with sufficient expertise, none of these mics would ever lose much value. If anything, if historical trends continue, all of them will appreciate in value through time.

Most importantly, to this date, almost all first-tier studios, artists and producers throughout the world prefer having at least one of these mics available for important projects.
