We've bought it specifically to tame a classical guitar recording. We did the recording and liked the sound a lot, except the noise from the nails on the string at the start of each note was pulling it forward a lot and got quite annoying.
Using a de-esser did not provide and easy solution but the DSM did in a very elegant way.
I was astonished by the neutral sound of the tool, it was almost identical except without the problem noises.
Getting a grip on it wasn't straightforward though, probably one of the most complex tools I've seen. That's probably what (so far) has prevented me from using it as a replacement for limiting/de-esseing/dynamic eq.
