There is a new FREE audio editor called Ocenaudio

I just down loaded this and it seems to work great http://www.ocenaudio.com.br/en

A small audio editor with lots of nice features. It is cross platform as well.

The great thing about ocenaudio is that it works on Mac, Windows e Linux and supports VST plugins.

Very nice little app. Streamlined and stable, so far. But, I can't find how to implement VST plugs... I checked the boxes in the pref's, but still no apparent access to implement them. I'm on Mac.

I've got so many DAW apps already, at least a dozen, that it'll take something totally innovative and mind-blowing for me to even go look at the website of something new, even if it is free.

Course if they're friends of yours TWB I might reconsider.

It's a worthy little grab. A nice, extremely efficient and aesthetically pleasing little program for quick, basic chop work. Very handy and friendly and intuitive.

It looks suspiciously like an older version of CooEdit with a different GUI. Not saying it is, just saying that a lot of the terminology used and the various options avaialble, are identical.

Quite a few people still moan about the demise of CoolEdit 96 and 2000 and don't want to move to Cool Edit Pro (now Adobe Audition) so there is certainly a demand for a basic, no nonsense audio editor in the old Cool Edit style.

There's a version for 10.5 (Leopard) and a version for 10.6+ (Snow Leopard and Lion).
