It comes with two HD cameras and a much thinner body. It also has an HDMI output.

This would be great to document settings of analog gear with the camera as well as to keep track of sessions. File Maker Pro already has an app out for the IPAD and there are at least a few word processing apps.

We do a lot of Ebay selling and a lot of on location video work and there are a ton of apps that would make our job much easier.

You can now control a Presonus Live Mixer with the IPAD and an app from Presonus. Looks like an IPAD may be the universal must have device for all audio and video engineers.

Yep, and it has a whopping great 256MB of RAM, think of all you could do with that much memory!

Old Nokia "candy bar" phone for me.

No moving parts, no camera, but it does have a built-in FM radio!

Yeah it looks pretty sexy, the iPad2. technology moving quickly.

Apple continues to rock the consumer world, new MacBook Pro, and this.

So now I've got an original iPad and an iPhone 3G, both a generation behind, and less than a year old.

My Macbook that's  2 years old has been replaced by the iPad and relegated to a PlexTools rig at the studio.

After using the iPad for a few months, I can see how the added Power, HDMI, & Cameras will be valuable needed additions.

I'm buyin'...

Should allow me to do video skype with some of my peeps, including Jack the Bear down under.

The built in cover not so much, I like having a bulkier protective case around the little beast.

Garage Band might be fun to toy with, given any free time. We'lll see what useful audio apps appear.

Changed it. Thanks for the heads up. We scheduled a mastering for May and I was the wrong mode.

I'm noticing more and more hardware devices controlled via software.

I think it's just a matter of time before we start seeing mastering eq's and limiters with software control. You could then use analog hardware and the software would give you the ability to save settings.

Whenever Apple release something new to replace something almost new I get a feeling that this specific tendency (or behaviour) is what ultimately will put an end to this planet.
