Thought you might like this video of
Oud player Joseph Tawadros from Sydney, Australia
(of Egyptian descent) recording at Avatar Studio with
John Abercrombie, John Patitucci, Jack DeJohnette and James Tawadros.

Totally off the hook - thx for that link!

A lot of my heroes in that ensemble: not to mention there are too many first names starting with J, and too many mics starting with U...

Its been a while since I've been there but with the SSL in the control room and the look of the ceiling in the recording room I think that's "Studio B" -- like I said its been a while since I was there - is there anyone who can confirm or correct that guess?

We are selling emotions, there are no emotions in a grid

"Recording engineers are an arrogant bunch.
If you've spent most of your life with a few thousand dollars worth of musicians in the studio, making a decision every second and a half... and you and  they are going to have to live with it for the rest of your lives, you'll get pretty arrogant too.  It takes a certain amount of balls to do that... something around three"
