Re: Audi A4 Timing Belt Question for Keith (ssltech)

...I've been VERY sorely tempted (and my will to resist tested to its limits) by a couple of 2.7 and 3.0 turbo engines for sale recently.

But my microphone lust is doing QUITE enough damage to my 'fun car fund' as it is, even without fettling a bigger mill!

One thing though... how much of a drive is it to Pennsylvania for you???

AWE tuning seem to be having a sale on all timing belt installs including the V6 3.0 30V...

I wish I had seen this thread earlier. I am at about 92,000 miles on my 2004 A4, and ready for the whole timing belt, water pump, tensioner, replacement. The dealer quoted $1400, a local Audi specialist $1200, which makes $595 look real attractive. I can't quite arrange for the 3.5hr 195mi trip each way right now.

Keith,

Damn! Just my luck...PA. is a bit of a haul for me,
but would have been worth it.

Anyway, i took it in yesterday and they have it almost completed.  I'm going over in a little while to pick it up.
Glad i did, they found a couple things that were near the edge.

Oh well, for future reference....Thanks.

Fingers crossed they got it all back together tidy.

btw, dealer wouldn't give me the R8 for a loaner...
