Another legend.
Just saw him a few months ago at Sound Emporium talking and now I'm so glad I went.

Jim deserves a special place in Heaven for the sounds on "Stand By Your Man."  A chilling recording.

Rest in Peace.

When I moved to Nashville 29 years ago this week,  Jim was one of the first 3 pros I met and talked to while knocking on studio doors. He took the time to talk and gave me tips and encouragement. Our paths never crossed again, but I still appreciate his kind attitude at a moment when I really needed it.  RIP.

Jim was one of a tiny handful of mostly uncredited people who turned Nashville into one of the world's major recording centers for popular music during the 1960s. Much like Reggie Young, most people only know about a tiny percentage of his amazing career.
