TLM103 repair
« on: January 21, 2011, 01:32:47 PM »

Only used in a home studio environment with loving care.
Recently started having dropouts in levels when recording
sent in for repair, $500 quote for new capsule, OUCH.

Don't know what was the cause, I certainly don't want it to happen again.

Are these mics well built?

Can't imagine I could have damaged it by wrong usage.

Regardless what people may think of the mic, it's build shouldn't the issue if it has been cared for. It sounds as if your capsule suffered damage due to moisture/dirt etc. Was it Sennheiser-Neumann you sent it to for repair?
