studio funiture: rack for patchbays?
« on: January 10, 2011, 08:31:56 AM »

I bought this:

http://www.hosatech.com/product/0/RMT-152/_/19-inch_Rack%2C_ Rolling_Design%2C_12_U

for my patchbays, with some extra room for my Sytek and Audient pres and my Cranesong HEDD.  The rack is a total piece of crap.  I've only had stuff installed in it for like three months and it's already falling apart.  Is there a piece of studio furniture in a similar form factor (I like the patchbays pointing up, and having easy access to the backs of them assists in their wiring) but is built well?

Much obliged!

Nicholas

I've used these for years, and they've been fine- simple, cheap, functional.

If no such rack exists, any carpenters/metalsmiths in the Austin area up for the task, PM me.

No problem, hope it works for you!  BTW, how are those Audient preamps? I've been thinking about getting a rack for location work somewhere down the road, but I haven't heard much about them.  The price and size are certainly attractive.
