In all honesty, buy all of the completely boring stuff. Surplus amounts of rack screws, guitar picks, moon gel for drums, white tape for mixing boards, bass, guitar strings, cymbal felts, a spare set of snares for when the drummer's snares give out etc...
Sharpies, blank CD's...CD cases.....
You may find your self in better shape to do your daily works, and you will not have touched your own budget.
