This year in January we lost my sister, diagnosed December 20th, gone January 23rd.
Yes, it's brutal.

I lost my mother-in-law, that loved as much as my own mother (lucky me), to the disease. Yes, it is brutal. Her's was caught early and they were able to operate (The Whipple Procedure), but it came back. After her first round of treatments, everything looked fine for a while and then a spot showed up on her liver. She made the courageous decision to refuse further treatment and resigned herself to the notion that this was just her time and way to go. To say it was heartbreaking to watch is beyond an understatement.
One of her last wishes was to ask the family to make people aware of the the Lustgarten Foundation and in lieu of flowers, send what you would've spent on them to the Lustgarten Foundation.
