Tonic - DDP Player/ Delivery now available!
« on: December 13, 2010, 11:37:47 AM »

Tonic is now available.
"I'm convinced Tonic will be an indispensable interface for you and your clients while streamlining the work flow of the mastering process."

   * Fully customizable (logo, colors, skins, ect)
   * View CDtext, ISRC, DDP info
   * Time stamped notes to allow client/engineer a new level of communication
   * CD burning via player (turn off or on at studio)
   * PC support on the way
   * Full encryption of DDP
   * Future updates include the ability to play other bit/sample rates..

Tonic will be available for $279 as a ground floor price. Once PC support is added the price will be $349 ($29 upgrade for those who buy before hand). It's a great opportunity to add value and features to your studio for 2011. Plus, your clients will have the benefit of a new and improved way of delivery and communication with your studio.

Thanks for your support,
Nick Moon and Jeff Lewis

I've had a few questions from the web site about similar topics so I thought I would post the questions and answers here incase your wondering the same things...

1.  Can you explain the work flow of Tonic?

The basic process is not only to deliver a listening environment that reflects your studio but also to deliver a way of communicating with the client.  This listening environment supports any sound card/interface your client may have...

To do both, here are the steps:
a)  make your DDP with whatever DAW of your choosing.  The DDP will provide tonic with artist and album info along with CDtext and ISRC codes for clients approval.
b) load the DDP into Tonic Studio.  The track listing, album title and album artist all get pulled into the right position.
c) customize.  Drop in your logo, change the background, change the colors and even allow the client the ability to burn a CD.  Even leave a note if you like.
d) save as a tonic file (this saves everything you did along with an encrypted DDP)
e) send this to your client along with the small Tonic Preview app.  All can be bundled into a folder and zipped.
f) once your client gets the bundle they will open Tonic Preview and then the Tonic file.  They can now listen and approve the audio / text.  If they have any notes they can add them with the notes feature and email them to you (this does not include the DDP because Tonic Studio will know where to find it in your machine)
g) When the studio receives the tonic file back from the client and loads it inside of Tonic Studio you will now see any notes that have been left by the client.
f) this process can continue until approved.

Hope this helps,
