Just asking.  Haven't heard many pop-rock records from there recently that used microphones.

I don't know what you've heard or not heard - but there is a whole bunch of stuff being recorded with microphones up and down the East Coast on a regular basis.

We are selling emotions, there are no emotions in a grid

"Recording engineers are an arrogant bunch.
If you've spent most of your life with a few thousand dollars worth of musicians in the studio, making a decision every second and a half... and you and  they are going to have to live with it for the rest of your lives, you'll get pretty arrogant too.  It takes a certain amount of balls to do that... something around three"

I'm not big on the Pop Rocks but I agree with the above statement. I don't search out too much music but have enough coming across my desk that there must be other good stuff too.

We're keepin' plenty busy here in Boston.  Lotta great bands; check out:

- Mellow Bravo
- Viva Viva
- Gozu
- Kingsley Flood
- Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck
- Girlfriends
- Cocked N Loaded
- Doomstar
- The Lights Out
- Township
- The Hush Now
- Cropduster
- New Collisions
- Richard James

All of em record with real mics (some of which were set up by yours truly).

...I'm sure you'll find something in there that you think is OK!

Hey Paul,

Funny you mention that.  I think we've got something headed your way in the next few months for a vinyl master.
