The city is a bit strange with a lot of homeless in all the fancy parts, seems harmless though.
Love the Yuena Berba park and Martin Luther King waterfall though.

I just found a deal to the Oakland airport. Is that far? Are there shuttles?

From Oakland airport you take the Air BART bus to the Colliseum station for $3, then catch a train to Montgomery station in SF for $3-4, then can walk to the convention center in about 15 minutes or take a cab. Fairly easy journey. I'm on my way to the hall right now.

OK. Bruno and I decided that tomorrow we should meet in the Thirsty Bear at 7pm.

Should be good.

Anyone in town tonight want to meet up for a beer/food/social?

Want to get out into town but on my own just now so not sure what to do.

ps. the convention is huge, busy and a little bewildering; but good fun. Really enjoyed meeting a few of the names from here.

I'm up for a dinner somewhere.

Cheers

I just noticed that if we're thrown out of the showfloor at 18.00, waiting till 1900 to meet is going to take some serious loitering. So I'd propose something closer to 18.30 at the Thirsty Bear. Those who don't know where it is, convene at the Grimm booth around closing time.

I'll be in meetings until 6:30 anyway, so I--and anyone else in a similar situation--will have to meet every one else at Thirsty Bear.  For the record, you can literally see TB from the Moscone Center (and definitely from the block's SE corner).

As a matter of logistics, how will everyone recognize everyone, other than name badges?  Or is that the plan?

Perhaps if anyone is unsure of identifying the meeting members it would be an idea to check out the Grimm stand (which is well worth visiting regardless). This way you can meet Bruno and you will have a face to recognise later.

Gonna have to skip the confab tonight, fellows.

Keith, what a pleasure to meet you!  Have a wonderful visit old boy.

If I find a spot that can squeeze you off a Belhaven 80-shilling I'll hip you to it.

Have my wife in tow - the exhibit floor has limited charm for me, let alone her.  She did her part though… charming all the old fellas.

Great to see everyone.

Likewise john. Now I need to save up for another car and blow it on a trip to LA.
