Either of 5/6/7 would do for me. Preferably not the 4th on account of unknown booth setup time.

Suits me too as I will probably be a bit frazzled on the evening of the 4th.
Leaving house at 3:40am to make my SF flight.

Nick, I'm definitely out of the running for riding up in your vette, we're finishing a temp dub wednesday & I have to record a screening Thursday.  Might still try to catch a flight up for the weekend though.

Too bad...

Hopefully you make it up there.

Send me an email through here if you do... some of us might meet on evening for food & drink...

Cheers

Terry, I heard a rumor that because of a session, you couldn't make AES after all. But it sounds like you will be there, is that right?

I'd really like to meet you after all these years and if you are indeed coming, I'm going to bring my Respect Yourself LP and implore you to sign it!

YES!

My session will be finished in time now, we had a couple of great days here and got caught up.

I will be at Booth 522 with Oliver, right across from the Latchlke booth.

SEE YOU THERE!

Looking like Saturday may be most appropriate for the majority.

Any ideas on numbers? I suspect that a reservation would be necessary in a place like SF on a Saturday night.

Just to get the numbers right, for a meet-up in the thirsty bear I've seen the following names:

KB_S1
bruno putzeys + Eelco Grimm
Nick Sevilla
JSam
Cass Anawaty

Is that all?

Hi guys,

Local here that used to meet friends at Thirsty Bear somewhat regularly giving my two cents.

First off, yes, I'd make a reservation at Thirsty Bear.

That said, second, it may not be as crowded as you think.  Given its location, it gets a lot of its business from the after-work, happy-hour crowd.  It may or may not be crowded on a Saturday night.

Third, at least on the weeknights when I'd go, it closed rather early--10PM, I believe.  I'd double check their hours before setting up a time.

Fourth, it's stupid convenient to the Moscone Center and should be fine, but if you want the best beer pub in the City, you've gotta go off the Convention-circuit path and hang-out in my 'hood, the Lower Haight.

(I'm not mentioning it by name because "douchebags" have been showing up a lot in the past few years because they saw it was cool on Yelp.  2 minutes of detective work or a PM to me will give you the name.)

Fifth, I'm down if you're cool with hanging with someone that doesn't post much in the Saloon.

If you posted exclusively in the Saloon, now that would be a counterindication.

I'll be nearby but to be honest I don't think I can be 100% committed to any specific location.  If I know y'all are there I'll try and stick my head in.

I'm easy to spot…

I have emailed the events manager at Thirsty Bear to get some info.

I have indicated there will likely be a small group (4-8) for eating with more possibly drifting in and out for drinks/chat.

If anyone does want to eat (or join us at that time) can you add to the list Bruno started please.

Don't post in these parts, and if I did, you probably wouldn't invite me.   Laughing

But I'd love to grab a beer and meet you folks, so please count me in.   Very Happy
