possibly need tape baking and also F1 transfer in NYC soon
« on: October 11, 2010, 06:47:47 PM »

So - just got an order for a reissue of a mid 80's punk album.  Mixes are coming in probably next week - some on 1/4" 2-track and some on F1.  I haven't received the tapes yet and don't know their condition yet - but the era does point to the potential need for baking. I don't have a convection oven here so would appreciate referrals to someone with one experienced at tape baking.
(and yes - I already know about http://www.sonicraft.com/ and might end up using them - but wanted to check around for other options first as well)

ALSO - if any one can do digital transfers from F1 to wav or aiff please let me know as well!

As these are unique tapes optimally it would be best if folks were in or at least near NYC so that we can avoid unnecessary shipping.

Please pm me at steve at totalsonic dot net or call 718-594-0859 if you can help.  thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Steve Berson

Steve,
I can do both the baking and the F1 transfer (I have both a PCM601 and an Audio and Design Modded PCM701) , but I'm up here in Boston.
Lemme know if I can help.
All the best,
-mark
