Fwiw I can't stand the drink Red Bull - a horrendously vile beverage IMO.
The Red Bull Music Academy is a platform for those who shape our musical future, a music workshop that has been traveling the world since 1998. Setting up our EQ HQ for two fortnight-long 'terms' in a different musical metropolis each year, we pull together pioneers of days-gone-by and musical legends of tomorrow from all aspects of rhythm and sound.
For two weeks, 60 selected participants - producers, vocalists, DJs, instrumentalists, and allround musical mavericks from all around the globe - come together to check gear, chat on tunes, play in clubs, get a rare glimpse into local musical hybrids in a different country, swap musical visions in the studio, and discover closely-guarded secrets of mixing desk magic - straight from those who started revolutions in sound. They're the people we look up to, and they're looking to you for a fresh perspective in turn.

The Lecture Sessions
Since the very first session back in '98, when Jeff Mills revealed his transglobal hotel secrets, the Academy lectures have offered a chance for participants to glean those pearls of renegade wisdom.
Lecture
Less of a lecture, more like sitting round your friend’s house while he chats with some of the most interesting and colourful figures in dance music. Listeners get a chance to hear our guests talk candidly about their roots and culture, equipment, techniques, or anything else they might consider relevant, in a relaxed atmosphere. And there's always the chance to ask that question you've always wanted to.
Participants
This loose term describes the 60 people who are selected to attend the Academy. They will have submitted their application earlier in the year, and been picked from all corners of the globe. They can be vocalists, DJs, MCs, musicians, studio engineers, or producers of any genre - but above all they're lovers of music.
Lecturers
This term describes our guest speakers who discuss topics with a team member on the infamous Academy Couch before the session is open to questions from the audience. They can cover a multitude of bases from music history and software workshops, to music industry tips and copyright issues - like the best music, it's an inspirational conversation between several people.
Content Team
This group of label heads, journalists, producers, and DJs are those who make sure the academy is the varied patchwork quilt it is.
Studio Team
Not just top of their game in the studio and used to getting the most out of creative individuals behind the mixing desk, these guys have stacks of knowledge they just love to share with the Participants in between and after the lectures.
Term
Every Academy edition is divided into two fortnights with 30 participants and roundabout 25 lectures each. We call it a Term.
