Just ordered my copy.
Probably not a definitive collection, but still a very varied overview.
I miss some pre-synth-Kraftwerk on there, among others,  but then again, there's probably many more interesting bands not included.

BTW, "RAF" stands/stood for Rote Armee Fraktion, not Revolutionary Armed Forces
Not blaming the OP, as he was merely quoting.

That is quite a glaring mistake about the 'RAF' - I can only assume the piece was written by someone who is young & completely missed those days...

Fwiw - that 1st Kraftwerk 'cone' album when they were a 'rock' outfit is great..

The band has always seemed to disown this one for some reason

The Can selections are odd since they come from the later period and not the groundbreaking stuff from 'Tago Mago' through 'Future Days'.  Great that it includes the 'Aguirre' piece by Popul Vuh - one of the most amazing openings to a film.

Yes - weird Can selections I agree, from their 'clownish funk' mode ..definitely not examples of their best work... I wonder what the reasoning was seeing as assumedly whoever curated the album would have been dealing with Spoon the band's label directly & might have been able to choose anything from the catalogue (?) http://www.spoonrecords.com/disco.html

Tago Mago, Future Days, Ege Bamyashi - essential. those albums blew me away when I first encountered them - soundtrack to a whole chapter of my life (!).

If it were me I would have picked more classic Can tunes & pushed the collection into the 'beyond'
