On my way home this morning...
« on: April 11, 2010, 05:27:37 PM »

I hadn't a clue it was going to happen. I got stuck in the traffic jam, and from all the people coming to watch it. The old Dallas Cowboy's stadium was imploded just a bit after 7am CST. I videoed it with my Droid. Good fireworks show too before hand. I was about a third to a half mile away from the actual event. That is all.

I would have thought 5zero7 for it's unique low end punchiness.

we in the music world like to joke about these things but we in the sound effects world really do debate about which mics & pres to use for close vs distant explosion micing, car exhaust vs. under the hood, etc.
Last week one of my workdays was spent throwing metal trashcans against the street & buildings until they were utterly destroyed, rolling & smashing bottles, banging various metal pipes & beams together, all in a spot on the backlot here at WB that we carefully selected for it's alley-like reflections.  We spent about 45 minutes driving around the lot, getting out & clapping our hands, driving around some more...
I unfortunately wasn't part of the session when my cohorts shot the hell out of a van with an MP-5.
