I'm a huge McDSP fan. All I have right now is their LE bundle, which is a real bargain. Their EQ's use about half the DSP of the Digirack EQ with no latency-somebody knows how to write some slick code.

About the only downside is they don't try to make their stuff LOOK like your wish list of hardware boxes, if you consider this a downside. The upside of this, for those environmentally concerned, is that they're all very GREEN!

Anyway, I actually accidentally downloaded the demo of the plug recently. I just wasn't interested in some gimmicky something that just screwed up the audio. I'm doing fairly straight ahead country rock, after all.

But after checking this thing out the thing I really liked about it was it's ability to produce a wide variety of convincing levels of DISTORTION. Good stuff. I haven't found anything that so convincingly goes from a very subtle crunchiness to full-on fuzz so well. Does some other cool things too.

Probably gonna buy this and that new URS comp, if they ever get the RTAS-PC version up and running.

Good sense is, of all things among men, the most equally distributed; for everyone thinks himself so abundantly provided with it, that those even who are the most difficult to satisfy in everything else, do not usually desire a larger measure of this quality than they already possess.

The futzbox did a great job of rescuing a tame snare recording for a mix I was doing last week.

Been working on more natural material lately so not explored further.
