Are there users of Minnetonka Audio Software here?
« on: December 14, 2009, 07:55:42 PM »

Hi all,

I'm thinking of establishing a Minnetonka Audio software user group. Minnetonka Audio Software make Discwelder DVD-A authoring tools, AudioTool AWE, Surcode MLP, DTS & Dolby encoders as well as FastEdit.

The idea behind this is user exchange, sharing experience, help/support by other users, bug warnings, and possibly gaining a bit more influence on the company to make sure the users are well cared for.

Are there any users here and would any be interested in joining/forming a list or sub-forum (somewhere)?

I've been using DiscWelder Bronze for a few years to make 96k DVD-A discs on my Macs.

Simple no frills easy to use app that gets the job done.

And the price is right... 100USD.

Right you are. Very occasional user of Discwelder and DTS-CD encoder.

Just what I need. Another forum Smile

I think it may be worth the effort. Glenn Meadows has offered to host the list. Aren't you reading his board anyway?

To explain the idea or rather motivation behind a user list a bit more:

Basically, I'm just now (and have been previously) in a situation where a project has been set back significantly (at the replication plant) because of an application / documentation error. Although this was a simple error, it took a while to find it because resources apparently aren't re-allocated easily. A user exchange forum might have avoided the delay / might have made the bug as well as 'workaround' known. And it might have saved myself quite a bit of stress. Hence the idea to see if there are others using the software and are interested in it.

I guess the smiley-face thingie, indicating bemused sarcasm didn't have the intended effect. I'm always in favor of more and greater useful information. I promise to lurk on that forum, and in the unlikely event I have something pertinent to say, I'll post too.

The Minnetonka Audio Software User Forum is set up now. It's at Glenn Meadows' Board (http://webbd.nls.net:8080/~mastering/), the section is called "Mini-Tonka Toys".

If you use any Minnetonka software, please have a look and if you want, post what you use and any bugs, tricks or tips you may know of.

Thanks!
