Sorry Cliff, never tried it.

Although a bit higher priced than what I thought would be in a "Budjet" forum...maybe you'd get more feedback at Fletcher's forum?

Your API's in disfavor C? Surely that isn't the issue?

Actually,
One maybe two will hopefully be the Lucas Moonray.
I was thinking getting another 3124+.

Hmm, I think this is the wrong thread for this topic, what was I thinking.

Moderator please feel free to move.

Cliff,

Just get another API or Daking IV. You'll be all set.

The Daking is amazing on drums. Slightly (ever so) thicker than the API.
If you're looking for a full bottom on a BD and Snr, Daking.
OH sound lovely with Daking too.

I'm torn between a couple of Daking's, and John Hardy cards for my MCI.

My only quarrel with the Daking's is the 5db clicks knobs.
But you gain so much precision and repeatability with click knobs.

I got one, and it's awesome!  If you go for it, you should consider swapping out the stock JJ tubes for a variety of NOS vintage tubes.  I use 2 Aprex Bugle Boys, 1 RCA, & 1 Mullard - and it gives me a lot of versatility.

It really is an amazing deal for the money.  Very well built, and very versatile.  The passive EQ switches are very useful, and they sound great!  And the ability to hit the tube hard with 3 gain options, and a variable output to set levels to track, make this a great piece.

Looks like you might of just missed this sale, at a killer price:

But it's still pending!

Good Luck, you will not regret this unit.
