Comping from eleven tracks of vocals.
Then tuning vocals.
Then recording more vocals.
Rinse. Repeat.

Oh...work?

Editing drums/bass on one project, cutting guitars on another, assisting on a third, string arranging on a fourth.  Wish I could finish one of those.

tonight:

messing with a new purchase: a Schertler dyn-g acoustic guitar contact mic.  Early verdict: not too shabby.  Very good for playing live w/ acoustic (beats drilling holes or buying an ovashun), and I can imaging using this for recording on occasion.

seeing if my fingers remember the riffs for a song I didn't transcribe properly, 3+ years ago, in an oddball tuning.  (C G D# G# A# D#).  They do.

working on the lyrics for a couple of songs that are likely on my next record... (i'm in pre-pro mode for that.. got 19 songs in varying stages, now it's time to beat them into shape.)

lately:

producer/guidance work for a guy in greece... high llamas-esque stuff... he has no idea how good his best stuff can become.   We'll get there, but it might take a year.

getting my guitar and voice skills back into shape so I can play out a bit, solo style.   I got too many little kids for a proper band, so solo it must be.

a little while back:

produced/mixed this record which I think is super fab.  Slow burner indie folk stuff, it's short but packed full of goodness.

I'm either listening too loud, or I bought the wrong fuses.
Both?

Doing the "band name shuffle" with my bandmates.

Tracking guitars and vocals this week.

Writing on a couple of new ones in my "spare time".

Oh - just got back from a 4 day vacation in the mountains of New Mexico. I needed it - my battries is recharged.

Good god man! It's your first week of university- go out, drink and meet young Norwegian girls. It'd be rude to do anything else.

I thought this thread was about an Otari console.

Haha! You know, I got my notes on half-normalling done and thought "this desk doesn't even use full normalling...I'm going out" and I drank...and I met a nice young Norwegian girl!

Actually really enjoyed my first workshop though. We're working on 2 Audient ASP 8024's this year and they're so easy to use! Get to try out an Icon next week and then next year I'll be entrusted with the new Duality Very Happy

Listening back to some bass tracks recorded through a crazy box called The Maestro, with the bassist's dog Go-Go in my lap.
