what you guys think of the tracks so far? are you replacing sounds (kick/snare?) I am especially interested to hear the mixes on this one... i have listened to the tracks and at first listen did a little work on the gtrs, especially in the low mids..

I reckon the drums sound good as they are, though I may go for a different reverb instead of the hall sound. So many rhythm guitar tracks! ARGH! Laughing Embarassed

Vocals! are by far the most difficult in my view.
Interesting if singer still continue to do that or she found something else for a living.

Yes, the band is still active although with a new lineup. I will reveal the name once the IMP closes so there's no "cheating" Wink

Wow, Rick. I think this was lesson in tuning. I'm a betting man. You used Melodyne or something to sabotage this vocal... right? There were a lot of choppy edits/punches in there too. I can't wait to get the scoop on this thing when everyone is uploaded!

HI Jason,  Pretty sure that was the original non-tuned vocal track but may be mistaken.  There was a few of us working on that track so it could be a bit messed.. it was a really low budget disorganized recording, but I think it has some charm Smile

Here are some details on the band:

The band name is Ready Set Die
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PEB9KJa_WI,
and at the time of this recording was an all female band.

(RSD is Now a three pc. with JT playing lead/rhythm and boys on bass and drums.)
The New RSD on MySpace:
http://www.myspace.com/homefornow

This recording was a demo album to get them some development interest.  It worked.

On this recording:

Jen Foster from Tuuli on drums.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxL3fK9H0pw
(now in another female band I'm working with called Ell:
http://www.myspace.com/ellvancouver)
(Canada's best female drummer IMO)
I expect big things from Ell... hopefully the world will be hearing about them in another 6 months or so... big backing on this one!

Deb Cohen, guitarist, from the infamous female indie band The Organ on bass.
http://www.myspace.com/theorgan

Punk chick Jt Criminal, formerly of "Sitting Pretty", on rhythm gtr and lead vocal (She's also the Songwriter)

And ringer Doug Fury from Bif Naked on lead gtr.
http://www.myspace.com/bifnaked

As I mentioned above these early recordings of the band were done on RME gear, on the cheap after hours with many cooks in the kitchen and things were spread out over months.  It is not my best work by any means with many mistakes, but hey it was fun and the girls have a document of their time together.

The band has re-formed and the singer has brought her chops up a lot, both on gtr and vocals, as well as writing.  IMO she is a unique songwriter that I have continued to work with for several years as a development project.
