I just got this today.  I like it!  Unlike most supergroup-type records, there are good songs and the guys actually sound like they're playing together.

It's a cool recording, too -- some nice nods to classic sounds without getting into 'cover engineering' territory.

I just picked this one up. Seems like they used a lot of 'room' on some sounds to hint at some space, while still keeping everything in your face at all times. Kind of cool, but I wish they had actually had the balls to keep and make effective use of some headroom.

*sigh*

I just had the opportunity to hear the album in its entirety last night, and have to say that I really enjoyed it. I was pretty unimpressed with the pre-release Youtube footage, but the album is great.

Man, the kick sound on "Scumbag Blues" and in other songs is awesome. Really roomy and with a great stereo image. I'm guessing it's a sample ... cause it's sooo great!

The whole record sounds like real drums to me.

Listening to this in my headphones for the first time at work. The HP's are nothing special, but holy hell is this a fatiguing listen in cans.

Totally fine on my large tower speaker set up at home, but it's wearing my ears out real fast right now.

Regardless, the songs are great.

2-inch 8-track analog, if the rumours are true.
Amazing variety of sounds and textures accross all the songs.

I saw the Roxy show a few months ago  Dave was so good he stole the show imo- and Alain shined also   all around fun and great show   So go see them if they come to your town!

Yo Seb,   I talked to Alain after the show he was in good spirits as much as one could be -  Truly a fantastic musician.

I've just got hold of the record. It's really good.
And yes it sounds like real drum to me, Dave Grohl's kick drum  have a "bouncy" tick that you can hear on any record or live show he plays. Funny, it brings back to a recent thread about in and out kick mics. this album is the perfect balance to me.

On record, the "psyched" aspect of the band really jumps out to my ears and I dig it. "Bandoliers" is a damn good track.

loop playing the record, i find the drum sounds and playing are as close to Bonham as you can get, even though Grohl has definetely his thing.
Killer, on every plan
And for Zep fans, without a doubt
