who's that other guitar player?

josh Homme is looking like he's cleaned his life up a bit.  (at least from all the rumors, it seemed he wasn't on a good path)

is QotS still active?

There are a couple full live clips on Youtube from a festival show they did. Sound quality is decent enough to get the idea.

I was less than impressed.

I had high hopes.

Oh man I can't wait to hear the album! J, as far as I know QOTSA are definitely still going! I saw them twice last year and they had some stuff I'd never heard before (could have been B-sides from Era Vulgaris though I guess.) Anyway didn't Josh Homme produce the latest Arctic monkeys album?

Yes he did. I'll tell you, I'm really looking forward to hearing this whole album. All three of these guys are powerhouses.

I saw them perform last week. Great outfit, and Alain Johannes is a major player. Amazing complicity between JPJ and Dave Grohl. Quite big basses involved, 8 and 12 strings, one I would call "belly steel" !

Kinda redefine Jazz Rock. Not so much QUOTSA in it.
Can't wait to hear the record too.

I was a bit sad to see Alain Johannes. Don't get me wrong, he was really great on stage, but you could feel he'd been thru a lot of pain lately. Not the man I had seen 3 years ago.

He still have all my thoughts.
