MX-70 lifter assembly question
« on: July 02, 2009, 11:03:21 AM »

Hi all,
I flew at little too close to the sun adjusting the lifter assembly on my MX 70 8 track.

I broke a seized-up bolt/set screw thingy that was used to connect the two lifters. (I was attempting to fix an issue where the leftmost lifter was still allowing the tape to graze the heads in FF and rewind--I reasoned that elongating the connection between the two lifters would push the tape out further).

Here's a blurry photo of the one that didn't break:

Shown here with the coupling nut:

Does anyone know what these things are called? I'm hoping it's not a custom machined Otari part.

Thanks in advance for any insight!
