Yes.

The mask...er, helmet has been lifted.

The secret is out.

The identity of The Stig has been finally revealed...

...and he's German!

Since BBC by law had to state the names and functions of every person within a production, it's been quite well known who The Stig has been. You just had to know where to look.

And he's been more than one guy, actually. Three, IIRC.

At least 3 yes.
I have met the original 'black' Stig, Perry McCarthy. Quite a character.

Good spoof of the whole scenario last night though.
The noise of an FXX on full chat is one of life's great experiences.

My absolute favorite show on television. Kinda like "Jackass" with cars and a whopper budget. The most remarkable part to me is watching Clarkson flogging the bejeezus out of a car and STILL BE FUNNY AS HE'S DOING IT!. Not fair.

http://www.topgear.com/uk/stig:

Every time someone uses the word ‘mincemeat’, the Stig gets 25p.

Some say it's almost impossible for him to wear socks. And that he can open a bottle of beer with his testes. All we know is, he's called The Stig.

Some say he thought Star Wars was a documentary. And that he backed out of I'm A Celebrity at the last minute because he's scared of Australia. And trees. And Koo Stark. All we know is, he's called The Stig.

Gotta love top gear....!

Ooh...

This is confusing.

Quote

Only seven people have looked the Stig straight in the eyes. They are all dead now.

From this we can surmise that The Stig is in fact a very rare and extremely dangerous form of Australian wildlife...

The Dropbear.

No-one has ever looked a Dropbear in the eyes and lived either... Shocked

Cheers,
Tim
