Im sure I paid market value but it is just too sweet!
I consider it a great deal, the best off e-bay so far.

1970s Laney 4x12 straight cab complete with the four original Celestion green backs intact and in fully working order for 102 British pounds.

Sounds big and awesome with whatever's plugged into it (by which I mean, I like it!)

It's been recovered in fake giraffe fur...but I find that quite entertaining.

And it's got wheels.

index.php/fa/13247/0/

a painting by clarice beckett for $1,200, estimated by deuthscher-menzies auction house at $30-40,000 a month ago (last two paintings by her sold at TWICE the top estimate)

(the same lot of paintings also contained oils by emile gruppe (est $7-10,000), eric thake ($3-5000) and a.a neuville ($5-7000) as well as a couple of lesser known artists... i ended up paying $3000 for the lot, including the beckett)

a real "antiques roadshow" moment!!!...

i find it a bit like fishing

if you go to the right place at the right time, something's bound to bite sooner or later...

I bought a Strat made of parts of various vintage but with what was advertised as a '59 maple neck and when it arrived from the UK it had a '62 slab maple neck, which was available on special order after Fender started putting slab rosewood necks on Strats in mid-'59. I've only seen a photo of one other slab maple neck over the last ten years and I'm flabbergasted by some of the offers that people have made for it.

Needed a Digi Y-cable and a couple of TDM cables for an ADAT Bridge. Found an ad listed: "Protools III ADAT interface with Y-cable, extras" BIN $65. Got to thinking the PT III ADAT interface was only 8 channels, why does it need a Y-cable? Turns out it was a 20 bit ADAT bridge with all the cables. Bought it for the $65, kept the $300 worth of cables and resold the ADAT Bridge for $250 which went BIN about 4 hours after I posted it.

I've had a lot of good luck on Ebay, but my most recent smile-inducing experience:

A few weeks ago, I saw a listing for a 414EB, nice condition, lived in a small studio for the last 20 years, etc.  $599 BIN, so I grabbed it on the off chance it had its original CK12 in it.  And sure enough... Smile

Who says you still can't find them out there?!

Sounds fantastic.

A pair of AKG 452's was a nice find for $500.

Not a huge steal, but I'd buy another pair for that in a heartbeat. Great mics.
