Discmaker CD-R brand?
« on: June 01, 2009, 04:22:22 PM »

I just signed up for the Discmakers('s) Studio Partner program, where you get a commission check if you recommend that a client uses them as the fab house (or, if you're a mixing/recording studio, I'm sure you'd get a commission for having them master it).

(A quick aside: the client had chosen Discmakers prior to any input I had in the process.  I haven't had great experiences with them during my time as an artist, but don't have enough information to make an educated statement about them as a fab house.  Input would be appreciated; I know forum users tend to use other many other fab houses.)

So, I signed up, got a commission check, and as part of the deal, they send me all sorts of marketing collateral to give to people, like pamphlets, etc., etc.  They also sent me around 100 free CD-Rs.  Anyone know what brand these are?  What quality these are?  I'm not likely to use something this far out of my QC process without input from trusted sources.  Which leaves Steve out.  (Kidding.)

I got a cold call a couple months ago from discmakers concerning the referral thing.  I asked what kind of disc they used mentioning I only use ty and this is what they said they provided.  I never followed up.

PlexTools Pro will do it to.  But don't trust my word on this!

Best regards,
