So Mr. Hall...
« on: July 27, 2004, 03:53:15 PM »

I am curious as to how the new PT system is working out for you. Has it been worth the investment? Are you out of compatibility hell? What is your favorite aspect of having the big rig?

Just curious... and a tad jealous.

uh, haven't even installed it in the studio yet

i've installed it, set it all up to my liking, tested it a little bit with out hearing anything

and have messed around with the mac quite a bit

other then that.....it's sitting in my living room

not one piece of audio gear has been installed in the new room

that changes starting tonight

as for the investment

i'm not sure i'll be able to answer that for at least a year....

but ou could send me a session on PT and that would help out with the "investment" part.......i'm dead serious too.

How about a DP project?

Keep us updated. I am always curious to hear about new setups and initial reactions.  Especially Pro Tools.

Oh and don't you have a Amek BIG? I saw that Ed Rose has almost that exact same setup at Black Lodge. Sounds like direct competition to me.

if you are serious, we can talk.......getting dp to PT isn't that hard

my amek only resembles Ed's in the physical shell.  many of my friends have laughed that i actually bought one

my big has been modded a moderate amount and will soon have fred forssell consulting on further mods

i have a small frame version, ed has the 44 input frame.

i'm not competeing with ed in the least

he's far more busy then i am, and our work sound NOTHING alike

anyway

thus far, i've been really impressed with HD.  the install was so easy i spent two hours not really believing i installed the full blown version

i kept waiting for some message telling me that i had a trial version.

the hardware is easy to set up

i need to cal it all to the big and whatever operating level i choose.
