Sorry if this thread is cold,

Been spending too much time in the SR Forums to notice all the activity here in REP.

I just wanted to share my experience of taking on a new console in our control room.  The console it replaced was all XLR and 1/4".  The "new" console arrived with EDAC/ELCO 90-pin connectors on it.

Now I had seen the 56-pin devices before, but this 90-pin thing was new to me. PANIC!

I had to apologize to every XLR and 1/4" I cut off to put on those little blades (256 pairs!)

Oh yeah, the reason for bringing it up is that a session was to play through the console less than a week after we received it.  Thank the almighty our sister studio had some spare connectors (and pins!) that they shipped to us overnight.

Thanks again John Pines of Private Studios in Champaign, IL for saving our a$$, I guess we still owe you for that!

Oddly, the cabling works great, the console still requires TLC on a regular basis.  Check out this patchbay!
