Racism. I think these people are angry & scared at having a black man in the White House.
| It could also be that they're afraid of someone smarter than they are in the White House.

No question he's a smart guy. Very smart. But SMART doesn't guarantee good policy.
Especially when we are passing bills so extensive that no one from either side of the isle can find the time to read them before they sign them into law.
If that doesn't matter to you, then you are intellectually dishonest....and there really is no point in a discussion.
| We've seen the results of stupid. I'll take a chance on smart.
Voting on a bill without reading it is malfeasance. But every legislator was voted into office by constituents who are ultimately responsible for what their representatives do and don't do.
What does that have to do with Obama?

All I'm saying is....look...
I can give you a laundry list of world leaders who were very, very smart - and some of them have led the world into disastrous situations.
It doesn't take an idiot to do that.
You SEEM to be saying it's OK that our congress passes legislation that they don't read...and that we get what we deserve because we voted them into office.
On one hand, you are correct that we are responsible. And on the other, we have the right to protest representatives who are no longer representing.
But to throw up your hands and say you're ready to blindly give someone a chance because he is "smart" (which - let's face it - by that you mean he's not George Bush)...well...does that make YOU smart?
Aren't YOU smart? Shouldn't YOU be miffed about congress and their lack of ability to take responsibility for their actions? Wouldn't a smart, responsible person try to do something about it if indeed it were malfeasance?
Please. Don't be so narrow minded to think that these protests are directed at any one party, one congress, or one president.
