Hmmmm -Reminiscent of the 'Newport Pagnall Capri' from some angles...

afaik, the teslas were designed by henrik fiskar, who used to work for aston martin
and jaguar (ford). now fiskar has announced he will make his own electric
cars, which will compete with tesla. the fiskar sedan is called "karma".

Fiskar is actually closer to production than Tesla...

But here is who Fiskar's car reminds me of...

I will try and arrange a test drive of a MiTo  sometime soon and report back in relation to my GFs new 500.

Please do.  I would be eager to know your report.

Barry

Be sure to tell them you're test driving it for an American who can't own one because they're not for sale here.  That way he'll be sure you're not a frivolous customer...

This is NOT fuel efficient. But it IS what I desire :

I got up close to one of these last month.

So so so gorgeous.
Incredible packaging too.
Despite switching from a transverse mounted engine (in 308/328) to a longitude mount the engine/clutch/gearbox are all still forward of the rear axle.

Doubt it would be as easy to park as a MiTo though.
Don't think it would be a relaxing drive in the wet either.

does anyone know what this is? i saw one parked on the street. just like this one.
http://www.caradvice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2006/09/VolksWagenGolfR32RearSide.jpg
edit: this car is serious bizness. one or two details will give
the game away to an educated observer, no kids toy this.
so very tastefully executed, it looks -developed-.

available now in the u.s.a and everywhere i guess.
so who has driven one? still has the engine
hanging over the front wheels though...
still safe for the family, it would seem.

reminds me of:
http://www.vw-one.co.uk/Golf_928a.jpg
the wheels give this one away, and it is kinda wide for a mkI golf

VW/Audi is now the number one automobile manufacturer in the world, replacing Toyota this past month.

Is it the Golf GTI?  If so, that's the car winning all the awards and is supposed to be a "great buy".

I don't know about "great buy", but I came up against one of these here in Calgary last week and that thing is FAST. Really fast. I was shocked.

It's getting wonderful reviews from all the magazines and the web sites.  It is supposed to be reasonably priced too.  I don't know if it is known as the "Golf" here in the U.S. or the "Rabbit".

In the US it is being called just the "GTI."

http://www.vw.com/gti/en/us/

200 hp, 0-60 in 7 sec.

So fast, but actually not that fast.

Very nice little car though.

And they've already made 27 million Golfs, so they have it down now.
