Is anyone using one of these?  Has anyone heard any rumors or testimonials?

This is mostly snake oil.

Motors do cause lagging current (- power factor).

To my knowledge only large industrial users pay power factor penalties.

Your wattmeter measures watts, this thing (capacitor(s)) won't make the meter see fewer watts.

Will your motors last longer? Probably not.

How smart is it, does it switch caps in and out depending on load. If not then it can cause problems with higher voltages and leading power factor, neither is good for your electronics.
