Here's a new one. It looks like someone misread the 1/4 pounder burger to mean one four pounder, but here it is;

There's something wrong with this picture- I see actual fresh, unprocessed vegetables on those burgers.

Sorry, I seem to have posted the health-food menu by mistake.  By all means, stick to the cigarettes and fries.

No wonder the rest of the world thinks we have too much.

The land of waste and over-indulgence.

Nowhere else in the world would people even think of the culinary atrocities seen on this thread.

I'm sorry, Foie Gras?

Don't underestimate how far human beings in ANY country will go for the enjoyment of eating, provided they have the means.

The fact that the United States had the open land to sustain cattle farming on a large scale had a big influence on America's beef consumption...  But then Argentina eats more beef per capita than we do.

Or am I simply missing that it's fun to take shots at America?

FWIW a lot of that land was forest before Europeans came.

Oh, I like that.

But never saw a foie gras sandwich with 1/2 lb of it.

But a little goblet of it on top of a dollar-coin-sized toast, topped by a thin slice of strawberry, a droplet of passion fruit pulp or a little bit (just a little bit) of caviar, together with some good champagne...  hmmm...  half a dozen of those and I'm satisfied.

One thing is to be able to go to a Brazilian rodizio churrascaria with an extremely varied buffet and amazing beef being served; something else entirely were the roman orgies with their vomitoria or the gross things we saw referenced on this thread.

Oh I love beef. sincerely. and I like it rare.
I am not Argentinian, but I have been there; they do eat a lot of meat but not in the gross fashions I've seen in the linked pics/sites.

No, it is not fun.

In fact, the feeling is more one of sadness.
