Moving house (and studio) is one of the hardest things in life.

Ya, moving a studio alone is a royal pain (did it a year ago).

I moved house and studio a year ago, and am currently undergoing the same horrible experience.
I don't want to comment more until I've had a slightly easier day, as at the moment, every day is a challenge.
Not complaining of course, but if you're doing it right then the work never stops.
Last night I did sound for a live radio broadcast for the BBC (unorganised, the BBC? Duh, of course!) at 1 day's notice (and supplied all the equipment, and today I did a radio show (the first thing recorded in my new studio, which does not resemble studio yet), and then went and did live sound at a local music venue. Well, I went out to have a quiet drink and relax, and one of the 8 bands playing (across two inter-joined venues) asked me to do sound for them, as they'd had a horrible soundcheck with a sound engineer that said they sounded awful, but didn't know why, and couldn't help them sound better..
So I got roped in, and it sounded great, and everyone was happy, including me. Surprised)
Just got in (staying at my mum's house until our flat/apartment is ready, after 3 weeks of delays), and after a quick sandwich at 2:40am I'm back to work, typing up the playlist for the radio show I recorded earlier, converting it to MP3, and uploading it to the stations FTP, and then editing and uploading pics to go with it.

I don't have anything to say of any interest now I think about it.
Just responded on impulse to the bit about moving house and studio..

Needs must, and new situations are good.
It's how you deal with the stuff that's out of your hands that's important.
Everything is a new challenge, and it's so easy to get sucked under, and ending up barely able to function, in the midst of unbelievable stress and worry.

Night night to everybody.

By the way Barks (if you're reading this), I got the Alice mixer! I saw your message on Ted's site, after already having messaged the ebay guy before I read that you were also interested. I already have one Alice (an 8ch "2008" model, which is an 828 with balanced outs and longer throw faders) which sounds fantastic (it arrived with no working channels, and now 6 of 8 are great, after extensive soldering), and am excited about the 12ch one, though as you know, it's not got transformers, which the 2008 does.

I digress, night night everyone.

Jason

I'm STILL not fully set up in my room after moving 6 weeks ago, and I have some work to do for a local band this weekend.  I still owe Brad's forum IMP reviews, too.  Sheesh.  Way, way behind.
