broken social scene
« on: July 09, 2004, 02:54:38 AM »

Hey j,
thanks to you I discovered this band last year. There was a lot of people talkin' about'em here on tehforum so I bought the record "You Forgot It In People" and I'm still amazed at how great they are. A lot of person said it was the best record of 2003 and in fact it was. Anyway, I found the recording quality on the poor side if you know what I mean. The songs are great, incredible, but the recording quality at times puzzles me.
Any input on how they recorder the album?

not sure about the actual technique but they definately carry in their lofi values from back in the kc accidental days. you can especially hear this on their first album 'feel good lost'. i think they enjoy having a lot of the album sounding like it was recorded in somebody's basement (and knowing that group of musicians it wouldn't suprise me if it was)
