Hi!
I'm redoing my studio. It is for my own music, my band, possibly limited number of other projects. I plan to record using Sonar into a windows computer.
I write on acoustic guitar, though my main instrument is acoustic and electric violin. Wide range of style, though mainly a hybrid of world/folk/jazz/rock. My band includes electric guitar, keyboards, drums/percussion, fretless bass.
I want to be able to get quality results [within the limitations of my engineering capabilities, of course]
I'm looking for advice on any and all aspects of the total solution:
mics, preamps, converters, compressors, etc etc.
Budget is not endless, but I want quality gear and am willing to spend as needed.
I do have an RNC, a KMS-32, a 57, a coupla octavia 012?, some old Lexicon gear upgraded by Jim Williams, a Kurzweil KSP8 on its way, Mackie HR-824 monitors. Plus a yamaha s-90 and some nice amps for electric stuff [Bruno, Carr]
I'll need to mic a drum set. Then track other instruments. No space to do live full band, but space has a decent sound in itself [not a pro studio installation by any means].
Thanks in advance!
