Thanks for this!   I don't know much about photography, but I *love* Andreas Feininger (a few of his many many photos of New York City show up on this website about 2/3 of the way down).

The food is awesome if you know where to look!

Seeing pictures of the Singer Building and Penn Station is so sad.

The SInger Building was replaced by an absolutely nondescript black glass box tower.

At least Penn Station gave it's life for a cause. Its destruction led directly to the creation of the NYC landmark preservation laws.

If you are into old New York, check out the Smithsonian web site's Thomas Edison section. It has an amazing archive of films he made of New York. There is a treasure trove of stuff you can see for free at that site.

A while ago, just out of curiosity, I went to YouTube and searched New York 1901. I was shocked at how much turn of the century stuff there is.
