Keith, that's an interesting "saying".  Is it spelled correctly?  What is "do"?

Barry, yes it should be "dog".

The new home computer keyboard is a laptop-like affair (ultra-short-key-travel), and I find myself tapping away merrily, and skipping letters as I go.

The saying is something I hear a lot, and appears to be a vernacular approximation of when educated people are tired of someone who has come to visit, and they say in an apparently polite way:

"please don't let me detain you any further"

...while hinting subtly that it is YOU who is detaining them...

Being from the ATL my mind instantly processed that as "door". I didn't even notice the spelling, although I guess "dog" does make more sense Smile

Every time I think of Bushface on that Sikorsky I think of the scene from the movie Independence Day where the chopper is trying to evac from the White House and gets ate up by that alien WMD, then an evil grin comes about.

Two million or more turned out to welcome Obama to Washington.

Jeb is a clever bloke. He speaks more than one language. He's pretty darned reasonable, and worked well across party lines. -This coming from someone who lived under both terms.

If Jeb was a bad governor, I never got to hear about it. -If it had been him in the White House in 2005, Katrina would have been handled VERY differently.

I'd be interested to hear exactly who thinks Jeb was a bad governor and not worthy of election either time?

-Now his brother -on the other hand- is a complete dumbass.

Jeb was also making noise that the USA should dispense with the import tarrifs on Brazilian ethanol.

Jeb was the one who was supposed to be president. But I somehow think the brand has been pretty totally trashed.

The dynamics of the family Bush must be a very strange thing right now.
