Acoustician in Europe
« on: January 12, 2009, 04:28:34 pm »

I'm trying to help a client.  He is looking for an Acoustician in Europe, as close to Italy as possible, to help tweak a large acoustic space for recording acoustic music.  Any recommendations?

Anders Gade in Copenhagen is quite good.
For an acoustic performance space I would strongly recommend Larry Kirkegaard in Chicago. One of the best in the field and he works in the EU all the time. I believe one of his more recent projects was redoing the acoustics in London Symphonys barbican and St.Lukes. Also did the rebuild of Chicago symphonys hall, renovation in symphony hall boston etc.

Gade would be less pricey and more local.
I can put you in touch with Gade if you want.

Our fearless Co-Anchor on the forum, Thomas, is based in France I believe... Also, my firm works world-wide including a recent project in Rome.

Check http://www.audiodesigner.eu

It's based in Lisbon, Portugal but I think it has interesting projects. I would highlight the following projects:

EP Producoes: http://audiodesigner.eu/portfolio/index.php?album=Estudios%2 FEP+Producoes

Audiophile listening room: http://audiodesigner.eu/sala-alexandria.html

Everything is in Portuguese but we're planning an English version.

I know personally the work of Marcelo from AudioDesigner and he has done very interesting professional projects.

Thomas has done also a very good work on this field

I also recommend myself of course since I'm also an acoustical engineer ! Laughing  Laughing
