ok, did some testing of the A-series EQ's, they are pretty nice, use comparably little DSP and are ok for general shaping. I find they lack the mojo of Plugins like the Waves API (or UAD Neve, for example), imho they are rather neutral in comparison, it seems that URS did not model the transformer / saturation effect of the actual hardware units.

This is absolutely correct- URS did not model any saturation.
tweaking the Q settings on the Digi EQ 3 will enable you to almost completely null against the URS API.
